Very tasty food and the ambience is very cozy! I took off one star because of service. Our waiter didn't seem like he wanted to be there and completely forgotten about us where we had to go try to catch him to get bread or even water. Won't mention his name maybe he just had a bad day. There was a young man who was helping the waiter he had a cross earring his name was Marlon. Marlon was very helpful and attentive! Other than that food was so good and we will give this place another try of course !

I had heard wonderful things about Bistro Don Giovanni so had gone in with high expectations. We had reservations at 6pm on a Sunday night and this place was surprisingly packed. This is a beautiful restaurant in Sonoma, right next to Ashes and Diamonds winery. There is an outdoor and indoor seating area, and they have a ton of umbrellas and fans so that you're not baking in the heat. Our server was incredibly attentive and everyone was friendly. The night we came, they had a laundry list of specials and I wish they had those printed on a menu because our waiter was wearing a mask, making it difficult to understand him and also we couldn't remember all the items by the time he finished his spiel. We started off the evening with the Grilled Octopus salad, and the Fritto Misto which included shrimp, calamari, green beans, and onion. They do serve you complimentary bread but it was so hard to rip the slices apart that we made a mess all over the table. The grilled octopus is a must order here and the only item I would go back for. However the entree fell flat and their signature gnochetti was incredibly disappointing. The texture of the gnocchi was very mushy yet clay-like, and the bolognese was flavorless. We were still hungry after, but nothing on the menu appealed to us. Four stars for the ambiance, service, and grilled octopus--but I probably would not return.

This was our first time at Bistro Don Giovanni. I checked the Yelp reviews and really pleased with numerous positive comments! Our server is Carlos. He is nice, attentive, and gave recommendation on white wine. He suggested white wine from Italy! My friend and I love it! We ordered salad, and appetizer then spaghetti with clams and ravioli. We finished with tiramisu and vanilla gelato. Everything we ordered is 5 star! Service is 5 star! Thank you Carlos! We wil be back again!

I highly recommend Don Giovanni for anyone taking a day trip to Napa. The atmosphere is inviting, and both the inside and outside dining areas look great. The wine menu is extensive, offering many options from both Old World regions and Napa. The restaurant also offers many specials, so be ready for a pleasant surprise when greeted by your server. I had the risotto special, which was delicious. My girlfriend ordered the salmon, and it was very good as well. The only reason for the dropped star is that the inside dining area was very hot, so beware of dining inside on a hot day--it can get quite uncomfortable. I suggest sitting outside, as I believe the dining experience would be better there.

Great food and service. I went for the braised lamb shank, which was delicious, super tender and falling off the bone. Wife had the spaghetti with clams which was also delicious, however that is the only pasta not made fresh daily, but dry pasta. Still was also very good and abundant in clams and flavorful. Kids had margarita pizza which is also using dopio zero home made dough, very good. The only thing that I complain about and I understand is not in the restaurant's control were the amount of aggressive flies that made the experience uncomfortable.

Great stop for Italian dinner in the Napa area! We didn't have a reservation and we were still seated immediately for a group of 5 - we got so lucky! We split a bunch of things, including the octopus salad, carpaccio, margherita pizza, lamb ghnocceti, ravioli (half lemon half tomato), tiramisu, and flourless chocolate cake. It was a pretty heavy meal which is not my personal preference, but after a long day of wine drinking it was perfect. I had a pretty big stomach ache after eating, but I imagine it was a mix of wine and foods I don't normally consume. I enjoyed the taste of everything except the pizza which I felt was bland, and the cake I thought was too rich. The tiramisu was to die for!

I love this restaurant, my favorite place to eat after a long pleasurable day at the Sonoma and Napa vineyards. It's tough work tasting wine, but someone has got to do it! The food is perfect here: Apps: the grilled Octopus appetizer so tender in a light salad with small potatoes ($20) The beet & haricot verts salad so sweet and peppery for $18. The complimentary bread with high quality EVVO rivals any Italian restaurant in NYC. Mains: pasta of the day - short rib ravioli with a cream sauce is delicious, the clams in red sauce were spicy with tender bits of tomato. The best entree ($36) was the spicy 1/2 chicken with a crispy skin and a zucchini mix. Perfect spice level. The tart crostata with vanilla gelato was wonderful for a shared dessert. Great wine selection at reasonable prices. My Only concern is post Covid - the outdoor patio space has tripled in size, if it's super crowded this could be a problem. Also, the entrees arrived before we finished our appetizers.

Great place to stop in for lunch or dinner when you are visiting Napa. We went on a day that was beautiful outside and fortunately we were seated outside on the patio. There was a slight chill, but they have plenty of heaters outside. Service: Good but not excellent - the waiter seemed distracted Food: I ordered the beet and haricot verts salad and it was one of the best salads I've ever eaten! Shared the Mandilli which is a pesto pasta - it was good and tasted very fresh but it was a bit salty. Ambiance: 10/10 especially on a clear day in Napa!
